Lucille retiring March 2018

March 27, 2018

Filed under: Uncategorized — tntadmin @ 2:38 pm

We are happy (and sad) to announce that Lucille S., one of our long-time hygienists will be retiring at the end of April 2018. She started working with us  in 2011, and at that time she told me that she would probably work for a couple of years and retire to spend time with her family. Fast-forward to 2018 and she is finally doing just that.

We wish her well as she moves on to travel and spend time with her grandchildren.

Amanda C. continues her role as a hygienist on 18 Church Street.

And we are excited to reintroduce another Amanda who will be taking over Lucille’s hours on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Amanda P. Worked with us on a temporary basis in 2013. She is excited to return to our Bradford office on a more permanent basis. We are equally excited to have her back.

Wishing Lucille the best,

Karl Arakelian, DMD

Clear aligner tray As a child you may have been taught, “If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.” But while that surely applies most of the time there are always exceptions to every rule, and Invisalign is one of those exceptions! But that’s exactly what this alternative to braces can do. If you’d like to know a bit more about how it works and whether you’d be a good candidate for it, this blog will cover those things and more.

teeth with receded gumsThis blog is a follow up to a recent blog that a lot of folks were asking about.

We previously spoke about closing the “black triangles” that arise when teeth shift, gums recede and fillings wear out.

A patient recently came to our office for a second opinion regarding her upper teeth. Another dentist had recommended extracting all of them and making her a removable denture.

Woman holding InvisalignVery few people are born with a naturally straight smile. All too often, gaps, overcrowding, and tilted teeth cause you to feel insecure about your appearance while also negatively impacting your dental health. In the past, the only way to correct the alignment issues involved the use of metal wires and brackets, which pulled the teeth into position. Now, you can get the straight smile you have always wanted without traditional braces. With Invisalign in Haverhill, you will reposition your teeth using a nearly invisible choice.

Dental Implants are Everywhere

August 9, 2017

Last time I shared a case involving some conservative bonding to close the “black triangles” caused by gum recession. These are relatively straightforward, and the patient sees immediate results.

Today I would like to demonstrate an implant case that is a bit more involved.

We had a patient referred to us by an oral surgeon who had treatment planned some implants in his upper jaw. The patient was concerned that when we were done, he would not show any upper teeth. His current teeth were barely visible with an exaggerated smile.

Can You Eliminate Those Unaesthetic Areas?

July 31, 2017

Our practice has been in the Bradford, Massachusetts section of Haverhill since 1960. We still treat patients whom my dad treated when he started the practice. And those patients still have their own teeth! But as people age, they get “long in the tooth”. That means their gums recede and spaces are created between the teeth. These spaces manifest as the dreaded “black triangle”. A 2001 study showed that 1/3 of all patients exhibited some unsightly black triangles. Patients are always asking if we can eliminate those unaesthetic areas.
